They still exist

Very cool indeed Jon! I like old stores like this too, but there are not that many here in the SW like can be seen on the East Coast. At least I haven't ran across too many. The B&W is fitting here.

Thank Jim and I agree Ben.

Haven't been doing much photographically lately and definitely not much online as other interests have been active (riding my dual sport motorcycle on the trails) as the weather has turned nicer. However, Thursday puts my wife and I on a cross country trip to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks for a week's stay. I plan on making it an eventful journey both personally and photographically.

Very nice. I'd like to see a photo essay of a place like this - what's inside, portraits of the owner, and perhaps a few colorful local patrons.

I am doing a side project, slowly but surely adding content, of old, forgotten places along the back roads of Middle TN. You are welcome to view at your pleasure. Your idea though sparks an interest that I may just do this in a few weeks, head up on a Saturday loaded with some Tri X and shoot away inside (with permission).

Here is the link if you would like to view (all shot on film which I think is appropriate for the content).

I was near a general store just a few days ago in a small hamlet called Dayville in central Oregon but it looks like it has been at least partially yuppified and the old timey character was just not there any more.
