The eastern cliffs that border Petra's city center are a rather crowded place with just about every usable face on the rock walls carved into someone's tomb facade. I posted images of the Palace Tomb and the Corinthian tomb in an earlier post but just south of that pair is a large one named the Urn Tomb because of the urn at the top of the facade. The Jordanian Dept. of Antiquities has been "restoring" parts of the front of this although it is not clear how faithful they are being to the original work.
Heading south from there is a rather dense cluster of facades all along the cliff faces leading back towards the Siq. Few of these have been named.
This one shows the goat hair tents of one of the bedouin families that was living inside of Petra when we were there. The Jordanian government relocated all of the Bid'ul tribe families to a small settlement just north of the park during the 1980's.
C&C always welcome.
