The View to Cape Sebastian

For my tastes the Oregon coast from Cape Sebastian down to the California border is the most photogenic part with rugged cliffs and lots of sea stacks. Over the course of the 8 years I owned an RV I spend over two months at the Harris Beach State Park campground ranging up and down this part of the coastline. I though I knew it fairly well until I bought a drone and and photographed the area from directly above and looking back at the land from out over the Pacific. Even with the relatively cheap camera drone I initially purchased (DJI Mavic Air 2) the views from the air were some of best I have shot down there. This is the view from just over the mouth of Pistol River looking north at the Meyers Creek area with Cape Sebastian just beyond in the distance.

C&C always welcome.

That area is super cool! I like view you got here. My favorite beach in Oregon is Bandon Beach, but I am thinking it probably gets too crowded for you.

Thanks Jim - Bandon is quite nice and I have spent more than a handful of nights down there. I used to get a really nice off season discount at the Best Western for being a government employee but those days are long gone. I did stay at the Bullard Beach State Park campground in my RV quite a few times as well but I am not all that charmed by long sandy beaches and prefer the more rugged coastal areas further south.

Great shot (and a great spot). We camped there a couple of Decembers ago. I think the DJI drone is doing pretty well. I am tempted to buy my neighbor's Mini 2 (not 4K) that he doesn't use. I could probably get it for around $300CA ($220US) - then go through the scarey learning curve. My son has one - second one - lost the first. You got the insurance? I think this is a winter shot of Harris Beach.

Thanks Dave - I like your Harris Beach shot with the oyster catcher down in front of the waves. Drones - the learning curve isn't that bad at all. I have never been a computer gamer so no hand skills from gaming consoles before starting out with drones. Still easy to learn. Yes my drones are insured.
