The Tower of Bluff

The Gas & Oil industry has a definite presence in the area around Bluff, Utah. On a recent trip, the road to my favorite scenic area was washed out by storms, so I had to scout out an alternative site for astro photography. I found this place with a neat manmade hoodoo.

Nice MW image although I think I have seen some more attractive hoodoos around the less-than-massive Bluff metro area.

Kinda curious which road got washed out down there. Quite a few of us are familiar with that area and its attractions.

Thanks Alan - I was on my way to those more attractive hoodoos - it was the west fork of the dirt road out to Recapture Pocket. It's a road used by the gas & oil industry as well as for recreation, so I'm sure it's been fixed by now. I was there in early October.

Thanks Jim - I am now stacking multiple images for night skies, I find it easier than using a tracker, but it does take a lot longer to post process!
