The Sentinel

While looking for a campsite for the night, I came across this beautiful rock spire in the southern part of the Alabama Hills. Alas, just after making the photo, the storm moved in full blast and after waiting for a bit, I ultimately got out my phone to find a motel room for the night. There were no rooms available in Lone Pine, so I had to drive to Big Pine to find a place to sleep.

I doubt that nice spire cared as much about the storm as you did I like how it seems to be reaching up to the thick clouds above.

Nice composition. The spire seems to be poking into that opening in the clouds. The stormy clouds with sunset colors complements the foreground well.

I am surprised you didn't have to go up to Bishop if Lone Pine was full.
