The long off-road drive to The Racetrack, in Death Valley, where the stones travel by themselves is definitely worth it: seeing and photographing these stones with their trails is magic, every time. Leica SL (Typ 601), Voigtlander 15mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters.

Hey Vieri,

Yep, love the Race Track! This is a nice streaking track that you captured here. The B&W really sets this apart.

This is cool. I like the exposure time. Makes everything moving yet.....not moving? Of course the clouds but it adds sort of the same feeling with the rock. I guess over time it did. Eh, Im all confused to explain but I like it. LOL

Everyone, very sorry for the late reply - my Workshop season started and I am now in Asturias leading my WS here, with very little time and so-so internet connections... and loving it! :D:p

Hello Jim! Thank you very much, I am glad you enjoyed the compo and the B&W choice! :)

I like the long exposure on the clouds here as it adds a sense of motion to the scene. Nice one.
Thank you Alan, glad you liked it! :)

Maybe the best Race Track photo I have seen?
Wow - thank you very much indeed, much appreciated! :)

Hello Tom,

that was the idea, quick-movement vs non-movement-but-movement... so to speak... :D

The cloud movement is great.
Thank you Marvin, glad you enjoyed it :)

Great, simple, but powerful.

Thank you very much Sasha, I am glad you liked it! :)

Dramatic clouds. Would you consider a color shift to something in the gold/sepia range?
Thank you very much Pete! :) Well, I normally prefer not to tone my B&W much, I just add a slight "selenium" toning in SliverEfex because I think it helps with printing (makes it more natural looking when printed digitally than a regular B&W).

I like the contrast between the stillness and the movement in the clouds.
Thank you very much Zeph, glad you enjoyed it! :)

Best regards,

Vieri
