The Morning Glow

A panorama from an incredible sunrise a couple of weeks ago. I was spinning around and shooting the colors when I first noticed that I had colors all the way around me including 180º away from the sunrise itself. The clouds were an approaching storm front that was less than 5 minutes away from chasing me out of the sky and back in my house. I did post a shot looking west with the bottom of a rainbow in it but that was a couple of minutes after I shot this sequence of three panels at 70mm overlooking Vancouver Lake. The beginning of one end of the rainbow is just starting to be visible on the right hand side of this frame.

This isn't a glow, it looks more like a nuclear explosion! What a great display of color.
Thanks Jim - this is why I was so bummed the rains chased me inside while the colors were still going strong. The crazy part is that this is looking west during the sunrise. The very upper right hand corner is the edge of Mt. Hood's shadow.
