The Milky Way and The Sentinel

This from early in May out at Joshua Tree National Park. I had to run my gear a half mile out into the desert to get it away from any car lights hitting the Joshua Trees, but I think it worked!

I processed a single image from the timelapse also last night, but forgot to upload it as I was busy playing Fortnite with my daughters oldest son. I am now driving to SW CO for 3 nights of Deep and Wide Astro as it will be pretty clear there and the wind should be low enough for the Deep Space.

So for now, the timelapse is all I got.

This came out really nice Jim, the lack of headlights are a plus for sure. But I also like the composition with that one joshua tree against the sky and briefly aligned the Milkey Way. I also like the foreground brightness

Thanks Ben! Yeah, I liked how it lined up. It’s too bad the sun had to rise before the Milky Way could pass over the tree. But I still thought it was cool.

Jim, this is great work. A few moons ago when I went to Joshua Tree NP, I couldn't believe the number of kids running amok in the park, at night. I tip my hat to anybody who can walk a mile with D810, you got some muscles,

That was with the D810, D850, 2 tripods, 2 external battery supplies I was running out into the desert with.
