This was the last time of this event as the land, local politics & the money, has sealed its fate.
This was my 4th time as credentialed media with a great group of talented photographers.
As some of you may know, the event ended in tradgedy on the second to last race of the event.
On the cool down lap for the T6 class, the two front runners had a mid-air collision.
Both pilots died. They were friends & competitors. I was out on the course at Pylon 2 about 2 miles away.
All we knew is that the next event didn't start. Word filtered down and we were bussed back.
A very somber end. I've made some great friends at these events.
I probably generated about 10,000 shots over 4 days.
I'm down to about 1000 after culling
With aircraft in flight, panning & 8 fps, there's a lot of redundancy
I do use some sharpening tools on some that needed it.
When it's just prop warbirds, I try to keep at 1/180 for prop blur.
I'll start this off with the warbirds
