The Land of the Dead - Comes Alive

The desert can often be seen as a place of death and dying. With the earthtone colors, and the sparsely vegetated landscape. It's a land of snakes and spikes.

When I saw the way these two Joshua Trees interesected as I was hiking, I immediately stopped to capture it in IR and in normal color. To me it looked like the shape of a star, and had already made a title up in my head as I was capturing it. But this morning as I opened it up in ACR to edit the Raw image and convert it to a tiff, my jaw dropped a bit as I thought, it looks like a person walking! I didn't see a star anymore, I saw what looked like a Joshua Tree that had come to life and was walking across the desert. Maybe I am a bit nuts... but that's what I am seeing now. :)

All comments are welcome,

Jim

I can't tell which I like best.

I like the color for the general landscape itself but for your Land of the Dead theme the B&W wins out.

You forgot to add in the scorpions with the spikes and snakes :)

I like them both. The B&W fits your theme best, but the color is the image I would hang on my wall.
