Nowhere even close to peak blooms for the Columbines in our yard but a good sampling started their annual appearance this weekend so I grabbed some shots yesterday afternoon.

Yellow with single flora:

Multi Flora Blue:

Firecracker Columbine:

Double Flora Blue. These are the most prolific bloomers in our garden and the first to bloom every year:

C&C always welcome.

That's quite the variety Alan! I really like Columbine flowers, it's especially memorable to me since late every July I go chasing them up at the 11,000 to 12,000 altitude range in the San Juan Mountains. But it's only the blue variety that I see.

You are lucky to just have to walk out your back door.

How long do the blooms last? In the mountains you get 2 to 3 weeks max.

Thanks Jim - we should be seeing blooms right through the month of June. The domestic varieties tend to have lots more blooms than what you see out in the wild and they continue to put out more after the initial burst is over.
