I went with Alysa a few weeks ago up to the Flaming Gorge in Wyoming/Utah to catch the Perseids Meteor Shower. As I mentioned it was our first time there, so scouting was in order. While I had hoped to get down to the waters edge or closer to it. One of the things I discovered about the remote location was that it was packed with RV's and Camper Trailers.
There was no real way to set up next to the water, we tried several of the peninsula's that poke out into the gorge, and every single one was packed along the waters edge. So we compromised and set up on a small hill giving us views to both the North and South. Ideally there would be more water in the view here, but we got what we could. Now, the good news is the view looking to the South and the Core of the Milky Way has more water along the bottom of the composition, but I have yet to get to processing any images from that camera yet.
This timelapse is a 2 for 1 timelapse, so be sure to watch it all the way through.
