Sunset Over Eiler Creek

One of my favorite places to shoot sunsets is along a beach that has a creek flowing into the Pacific. At low tide the flows cross the beach following the path of least resistance and that pathway changes with every cycle of the tide so the scene is never the same twice. One such creek is Eiler Creek that flows across one of the beaches at Harris Beach State Park. This shot was prior to the actual sunset that got snuffed out by a storm brewing along the horizon.

Very nice foreground, the flow adds interest and pulls in the eye. I have noticed through the years that up in the PNW, the pre sunset is most often when the light and color is the best.

I love the ripples and patterns those streams make in the sand and their own flow.
Thanks Ben - this particular evening's arrangement of the creek had some nice textures.

Thanks Jim - this sunset had some interesting moments that came up later on. There will be more from this one later.

Excellent creek shot Alan! My only nit is the very slightly cut off right edge of the creek.
Thanks Tim - I hadn't noticed that cut off until you mentioned it. Which of course means now I can't stop seeing it either  The image is not cropped.
