Sunset at Mono Lake

I decided not to call this "Mono Lake Window Blinds" although Jim's photo at Second Beach prompted me to post this one. A cloudy afternoon in Lee Vining suddenly lit up, causing a mad rush among the photographers at Mono Lake to take advantage of the colorful bounty.

Any thoughts are always welcome.

My first thought is you are really missing out with not using the "Window Blinds" in your title. :)

A very cool shot of Mono Lake here. It's cool including the Battleship formation. I can imagine the scramble when the color starting lighting.

I like the tranquil lake here. My only visit to Lee Vining featured no clouds and windy. So much more to see there when you get conditions like your image shows. An image that is easy to get lost gazing at.....

Lovely light and colors in the sky and reflections, and a fine comp.
My only thought is the tufas feel a little strong in the reds to my eyes.

Sweet light and comp. Great timing. Love how the rocks in the foreground picked up a soft hint of the sky.

Splendid. It's like an ice cream sundae with cotton candy on top.

I like your description of how photogs made the mad rush too. :D
