These little bees are about 8mm long (0.3 inches) and are usually very difficult to photograph as they're deep in the flower. However, I had six come to my outside studio a few nights ago. My outside studio consists of a patio table, chair, two 60 watt lights and a florescent black light. I use a 90 mm macro lens with an on camera flash and diffuser.
This is a male; notice the green eye
This is the female; notice the blue eye and the hairy body and legs
This is a more typical photo of these tiny alien-looking pollinators
