Stormy Fall

I am in Northern Colorado for a few days to help out my daughter with the grandkids, and I went out yesterday with a couple of them as I saw these super cool stormy clouds. The problem was it was so crazy windy the clouds were moving faster then I could get to a local location for a ground layer. Fortunately more clouds blew in, not quite as cool as the original set, but still the clouds were being backlit by the sun which I tried to maintain that feeling.

I like the mood of these skies and the fall palette below.

Sometimes with conditions like this it's better to find the ground scene you want and wait for the clouds. Doesn't always work out but when it does it can be magical.

Thanks Alan. That probably would have been the better plan. I didn't realize how fast the wind was pushing the clouds at first.

I appreciate that Doug! The clouds were so cool! I am just glad the fall colors are looking pretty good by my daughters house.
