Stonehenge

Several years ago I made a business trip to the UK and decided to fly out a day early and check out Stonehenge. I went online and booked special access, allowing me to join a small group before opening that wasn't restricted to the paths - I was able to walk through the stones. I drove out the night before to check out the area and decided to hold my camera over the fence at sunset, which turned out to be my favorite picture from the visit. Sunrise the next morning (when I had my access) was unspectacular due to cloud cover, but it was still a neat experience.

So here is the over the fence sunset shot:

And here is my favorite from the next morning:

I love that sunset shot with the sun burst rays peeking through the stones. The morning shot is nice as well but that sun peeking through the stones steals the show here.

Great historical images here. Your experience makes me wonder what the ancients did if it was cloudy on the critical day of sun alignment?

I really like your handheld shot with the sunburst. Much better color than at sunrise. I've heard that it's "always" cloudy and/or raining there.

Very nice Kyle! That sunset one is really awesome.

It must have been great to walk among the stones. When I was there, all I could do was shoot from the fence, but still that was sure pretty cool and I was pretty happy with my shots from there.

Both shots are well done and certainly project different vibes. #1 is probably more pleasing but I really like the stark isolation of #2. Thanks for sharing.
