Spirit Falls

I love the color of the water in this image. I am a little embarrassed by how many times I have driven past the turn off to access these falls from WA 14 and kept going towards Mt. Adams.

Looks like a remote falls waaaaay back in the woods. Love how you positioned the lower falls emptying out of the frame.
Very nicely done , Kyle.

Very exciting image, Kyle, and nice colors. I wonder what the lower part of the front falls looks like. A vertical pano might have worked.

Hey Kyle,

This is really nice, very nice even! Okay, well maybe even awesome! :)

I really like the look of this, and I like how you composed it, that centered pouroff at the bottom is really sweet.

I really need to stop by here the next time I am up that way. I hope it wasn't affected at all by the Columbia River Gorge fire, I think I had heard that some of that fire had jumped across to the Washington side.

I don't believe that area on the Washington side was impacted at all. That was mostly downstream near Stevenson.

Absolutely Gorgeous--the problem with an image this nice is the chance you might declare victory and quit.
Thanks Tim - there is never victory, which is one thing I love about photography!

Thanks Alan - it is definitely a slog down to the falls, but at least there's a better trail than there used to be. Beautiful spot worth the effort.

Thanks Barry - somewhat deceivingly remote as it really isn't that far from the highway.

Thanks Jeffrey. I have some verticals - I'll add one to the post if I find a decent one.The river actually makes a turn at the bottom of the frame that I didn't feel helped the composition much.

Just gorgeous Kyle.
Thanks a lot Ben

Definitely worth the effort. Just be ready to be wet and muddy. I'll defer to Alan, but I don't believe it took any damage from the fire.

Love the color of the water and the overall composition. Definitely need to stop by there. Really wish that tree hadn't fallen across though.

It appears that this falls in on some private property and the access is blocked. Really?

Yeah, I don't love the tree either. I believe it's gone now. There's a new trail to the falls which I understand avoids the private property issue.
