SP401

Nice, Barry. Wish I could have been there with you, though I've been there a hundred times. That place is my railroad mecca. Coach/combine #401 is of particular importance to me, as I've inspected, measured and modeled it in HO scale years ago. I did the entire SP Narrow Gauge train along with three of it's engines, too. And their diesel, which never made it to laws. Last year, newly restored SP #18, that sat on static display in Independence for 64 years, was brought to life in Laws and actually pulled #401 along with the other boxcars on that track under it's own steam power. It was a spectacle that made grown men cry, and I was one of them. My model RR layout still exists in cyberspace. See:

Very cool stuff, Jeffrey!
The railroad is close to my heart, too, as I was a brakeman/switchman for the ole S.P. for 3 1/2 years while still in school. Still one of my all time favorite jobs! Based in Bakersfield I rode the rails variously between Fresno and Yuma, including many trips over the Tehachapi Loop, and one lucky trip (off the extra board) to Lone Pine and a whole summer out of Indio working the main line to Yuma and the Imperial Valley.
Loved your pics of the RR models!

That HO train setup is amazing Jeffrey. Where on earth do you get all of the parts and pieces to model the town and its population?

Wow Jeffrey! I didn’t know you had done that. For a few months around Christmas I have an HO scale set of trains I set up around our Christmas village display. The trains are starting to out grow the village. Nothing handmade like yours, but it’s still fun.
