Solar prominences and the Heart Nebula

It's been a long cloudy summer for deep sky imaging. The night sky is finally clearing up and we had 2 excellent transparent nights in a row, which don't come that often for me. I did the heart nebula a few years back and wanted to add the data from a few nights ago but after looking at the subs taken previously the new ones were so much better I just used the new ones. SW Florida is good for planetary and solar imaging but really stinks for deep sky. I just came back from a trip out west and really envy you all who get those transparent dark skies.
I used the Lunt 60 ha scope for the solar with the DMK21au618 mono camera. I stacked 500 frames.
The heart nebula is taken in Bortle 8 skies using the Takahashi FSQ106 with a 0.73 reducer which fit the heart in with nothing to spare. ASI 1600mm camera and 5nm filters. Almost 8 hours of subs.

Wow! Love the detail on the Heart Nebula! That's really awesome and amazing!

As I contemplate getting a mono or color astro camera, images like this one are a very compelling reason as to why I should go with Mono. With being stretched a bit with my time, the color Astro camera appeals to me because I could keep the same basic workflow and time in shooting and processing. Going to a mono camera, will cause everything to be slowed by 3 or 4 times. But I do enjoy the flexibility of the mono, and the ability to process the images in a variety of palettes.

Love the prominences you got with the sun!

Your solar images never fail to impress - just amazing stuff. In this case you have added a wonderful image of the Heart Nebula as well. So many cool areas in that object, I especially like the area in and around Melotte 15 in this one. Very nice pallete mix.

Thanks Mike, the solar stuff is my favorite to image because it is ever changing, physically it is more work for me because I have to set up everything separately. The better seeing is early in the morning and this is when I get clear skies but can not be seen from my observatory because of trees.
I like to add a little green in the narrowband mix, I think it makes it a little more interesting.
