SoCal Milky Way shooting August 26th 2017

I am thinking this Saturday could be a good night for the Milky Way. It's a Crescent moon setting about 10:30 which should let us get some nice foreground images while waiting for the Milky Way to appear.

Ideally, I want to go up to Yosemite and shoot it from Glacier Point. But I might have a committement that might prevent me from going that far on Saturday. So even though it's still hot, maybe go out to Joshua Tree instead? It's only supposed to be 80 at night, so it will be nice tshirt weather to shoot in.

Any thoughts or interest?

If it wasn't for the fact that I've been away from my family the last several weekends, I would go out with you. I want to spend the next several weekends with my family, and I'll probably go out to JT in September for one last evening/MW photog adventure.
