Smoky Skies over Mt. Adams

Normally the skies in the Pacific NW are terminally boring during the summer months during our dry season but this summer's weather has tossed in a surprising number of days with some clouds. Add in a bit of wildfire smoke on the horizon and the result is some nice color. This is a 3 panel panorama of the skies over Mt. Adams from this morning using the 166mm lens on my drone.

That's a nice all around combination.

There is a certain amount of smoke that adds nice color without it being so thick it turns the light that amber color. This was the right amount of smoke.

Thanks Jim - according to the air quality sites around me we have healthy air to breathe but there is a layer out on the horizon that is visible from the air. I have been shooting sunsets for a couple of nights now where you can shoot directly into the sun and get a blood red disk just as it gets to the horizon.
