Sicily, Various backstreets and alleys

This place certainly has a lot of character and a neat vibe to its streets and alleyways. I love the stone streets. The cross bracing between the buildings in the third image is a bit on the "interesting" side. The amount of modern infrastructure on the external walls is a fun twist and a good reminder that a lot of these buildings predate electrical and telephone wiring. Neat set - looks like a fun visit.

Hey Ed,

What a fun place to have gone. Count me as jealous! :)

Those streets and alleys are so cool. Seeing how narrow they are, or how they are going up or down a hill, just amazing. My favorite is the last one with the umbrella's. What a colorful way to help from the rain? Or sun? Did anyone say what the purpose was? Or were they just there for cool decorations?

And I love that first one with how they are collecting trash! That's just mind blowing it's so cool, and different.

We were told all the Restaurant owners went in together to add the umbrellas for shade as it gets "really hot" in the summer time, but it looks really cool.
