Second Beach Stacks

We spent Christmas near Seattle a few years ago, and I took that as an opportunity to make my only visit to Olympic National Park. I took advantage of my daughter being a Twilight fan to make this a Twilight and Photography trek with her (she's since come to her senses). We ended up at Second Beach and I captured this image while waiting for sunset. I liked the glow in the sky and the broken reflections on the beach.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Hey Kyle, my last visit was with family and a whole pack of Twilight fans, we even stayed in Forks. This is a really nice image.

Taking off on my own during Christmas to go take pictures doesn't always go over very well. Taking my daughter on an adventure that happens to include some photography gets the mom seal of approval. Plus it was a fun day with the little girl that isn't so little anymore.

Nice that you had low tide for your sunset - that always allows for more to play with for your session. I like the rippled texture you got in this one.

Peaceful, Kyle. I love the subtle light on the stacks. This beach always has a restful effect on me.

We have stayed in Forks numerous times in the last 15 years and I remember being taken aback by the Twilight craze, as we hadn't heard of it in the UK and returning to Forks to find our small quiet town full of teenagers was a real culture shock. We were setting off for Second Beach for sunset one evening when, right at the beginning of the trail, when we passed some girls on their way towards the beach. One of them, in flipflops, asked "Are we nearly there yet?" I told them how far it was and mentioned the log pile at beach head - we never saw them on the beach, so I assumed they bailed out on the trail somewhere!
