Scrub Oaks

On a dirt back road from Ridgway to Telluride we drove through this large area of scrub oaks that was in full color. Light clouds in the sky added a nice touch to the image.

Very nice Larry. This looks like Last Dollar road that I was on 2 days ago.

The scrub oak is awesome in adding reds and oranges into the fall color season in Colorado that can often feel like gold is the only fall color. So I like it when the scrub oaks are changing color.

Hi Jim, to see awesome scrub oaks you should try the hills near La Vita in southern Colorado. The hills look like painted quilts in red, yellow, orange and magenta; totally amazing on a good color year!
