My first post on this site. WA coast Olympic National Park. Ruby is one of my favorite easy access beaches. Love the cloudy days for B&W. Sony A7rII.

I let the shadows go to black for a monolithic feel to the rocks.

Great first post, and welcome to the forum. This is a really good subject for B&W with the cloud texture. That first one almost looks like a pair of sea lions squaring off.

I have taken a lot of images at Ruby Beach but never really thought about processing them as B&W. You have just changed my thinking about that. Nicely done.

Hey Jim,

Very nice work here. I like your choice to go with B&W on these.

I agree with Ben, #1 sure does look like a pair of sea lions! I like those clouds you had in this, quite an interesting layer. I think I might pick #2 as my favorite, I am really liking the look of the sand! I am betting in print, that the detail and texture of the wet sand will really be impressive in that one.

Now, #3...is quite the interesting scene.

A wonderful first post, I like the 2nd one also for the reflections in the sand.

And welcome to FocalWorld, there is a great group of people here.
