Thanks all! And no wasn't all that close. I was in the stands using an old Canon 7d with a 70-200 lens wide-open at f/2.8 with a fast shutter. This was at night with stadium lighting. They used to have an afternoon edition with plenty of light but they seemed to have dropped that time-slot.
