The wife, Jan and I got home recently from an amazing winter road trip to the California and Arizona deserts. We spent most days hiking, some on trail and some off trail. It was challenging and rewarding. There are also several from the trip down and around Ventura, CA where our son lives.

I put together a "jAlbum" page on my website to share the photos of the trip. Maybe there are some folks who may want to visit there. Some photos have a "location bubble" icon that will present a map.

The page was (easily) created using the Swedish web-album software, jAlbum. I find that the best way to view the album is to first click on the first photo and then click on the "Full Screen" icon. You can step through them with your left/right keys from there.

I hope you enjoy them and I certainly would enjoy comments and critiques.
I also hope the photos tell the story.

I thought I would also post an explanation of the buttons found within the album.

..... on the banner when first opened:

..... on the caption of individual photos:

Please connect with me if you would like more information regarding the jAlbum software.
(.... hmmmm.... maybe an article regarding jAlbum would be useful.)

Quite the collection of images from your trip. Looks like a fun journey. The shot of your wife inside the arms of the saguaro must have been a bit of a challenge to set up without getting impaled in the process.

Thanks for sharing the sights along the way.

What a great road trip Dave! How long was your trip.

The JAlbum does a great job of displaying your images.

Quite a few of them caught my eye. Pismo Beach is one of my favorite places in California, it's only about a 4 hour drive from my house near Disneyland. I love the clam chowder in Pismo, so I will drive the family crazy as I will drive 8 hours in total to go up there just to have a bowl of clam chowder! :) I of course will photograph while up there, but my motivation is the Clam Chowder soup from the Splash Cafe! :)

I also really like your images from Organ Pipe and Anza Borego. You captured the essence of their beauty really well.

Thanks guys.

Next trip down, we will definitely check out the clam chowder at Splash Cafe. The fish & chips at the Airstream trailer on the pier is good too.

And, yes the hugging saguaro was a challenging compilation. The sizing was wrong, so she is actually being held off the ground. It was fun to do though.
