This morning while taking my coffee outside the RV, I hear the sound of a road runner near me. I go inside grab the Z9 and the 70-200. I start walk on the ranch property when I see it on a tree branch. It was far but I say why not. (1st shot). Then I say how can I approach it ? An idea cross my mind. I go on internet and find the road runner sound and play it on my phone. Don't know if it's related or not but 30 second later I see it really close to me. It wasn't fully open but I get the shot. It start to run away... Well it was an interesting experiment. More to come on this

I like your effort for the running shot. They are quick so not an easy task to pan for the running bird and more complex given the motion blur of everything else on the ground while trying to track the bird.

Hey Rick, what a great idea! I wouldn't have thought about using the road runner call. And for all of the time I spend in the desert, I have only seen a road runner a handful of times, and may have photographed one even less then that since they are so quick at darting around. I have never seen one in a bush before, so great job on this to be aware of it like you were.
