Rice fields at dawn

A little dawn color over young flooded rice field. Arkansas prairie near the farming community of DesArc.
Had to get up and on the road pretty early to make it in time for this display. I've always loved the levied contours in the rice fields.

It's amazing how many rice fields we have here. Until we met a rice farmer up in Central California a few weeks ago, I had no idea we actually had rice fields here in the US. And now I see you have some down in Arkansas too!

Arkansas is the self proclaimed rice capitol of the world! Huge percentage of farmland here is rice. I know California has a lot, too.
