Having recently discovered how to control my stars during processing I’m going back over my old data to see if I can improve upon it. First up…. SH2-157 the lobster claw

Looks quite nice to my eyes as a non-astromoner.

Any chance you could post the prior result so we can see the difference the new processing techniques offer? I am just a simple landscape and aerial photographer and a lot of the techniques that are being used for astrophotography are quite alien for my feeble brain but I do like looking at the images :)

This is really cool! I like the more subdued stars for sure. I think you brought out some really nice detail on the lobster too.

So I’ve tried to have a subtler approach to processing. Not so strong in colour and bringing more dust into the foreground. Here’s my previous version.
