A hidden alcove of red rock in reflected mid-day light. Gold Butte National Monument, Nevada 2-12-23
Thanks, Alan. I was lucky to have so much reflected light here as the sun has no way other way of getting into this area. These formations are quite similar to the ones in Valley of Fire on the other side of the Virgin River Valley. With a lot less visitors. I like this composition and the light.
wow, Kurt, this is a lovely shot, I love the rock formations.A hidden alcove of red rock in reflected mid-day light. Gold Butte National Monument, Nevada 2-12-23 View attachment 56760

Jim, Gold Buttes has been on my to-go list for a few years, I am looking at the route to get there, it seems in part of the area, a high clearence 4x4 is needed; that's what stopped me.Such a cool image! It definitely has a familiar Valley of Fire feel. I am betting both areas were forged and formed in similar manners.
I am definitely heading there sometime in the next couple of months. I tried to fit it into my plans for this week, but it was showing rain, and I don't like hiking in the desert in the rain.
Thanks , Ben. It was a beautiful area! This is a wonderful image.
Thanks, Monica. Quite a unique view. Indiana Jones type!Very nice reflected light.
Great. Let me know how you like it!Kurt,
