Recipe #13 - Depth

The hazy depths of the desert.
A view to the southwest from the road up to Kelso Dunes in the Mojave National Preserve. From my trip west last month.
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the highest mountain in the center is Mount San Jacinto, which overlooks the Palm Springs area, at a distance of roughly 85 miles!

Nice one Barry. There is a sky lift or a tram (not sure which) to the top which I once took.

This is a good one to demonstrate depth Barry. Though I think having the road along the edge instead in the middle distracts and pulls the eye away. The desert brush makes such a great foreground for this I wonder if the road is even necessary?

I hear ya. I actually gave it a look from out in the road, but I didn't like the overly symmetrical look of the road leading directly to the tallest mountain. I liked the off-center, asymmetrical look better. Could just be me, but, anyway.....
