Pictured Rocks Abstracts

Spent some more time this year in the Upper Peninsula, mainly a rock hunting and relaxation trip but I did find a few cool things to photograph.

Amazing color contrasts with the first 3 images. The orange lichen really jumps out at the viewer. The sand ripples are pretty cool too.

Love those abstracts Jordan! Way to work these closer images.

I wanted to take the Pictured Rocks boat tour, but while I was there in the upper midwest for 2 weeks, the colors never turned along the coast by Pictured Rock, so I didn't do it.

Rock Hounding sounds like fun. My son does a lot of that in New Mexico. I was keeping an eye out for Agates for him while I was up there, though I didn't find many. What were you finding?

We did the boat tour last year, I suggest the one that goes for sunset. The cliff faces catch great light and they get you pretty close. We didn't get around to doing it this year but next time I go I'm bringing the camera ; )

We found about 40 yooperlites, we split our time at 2 places and the first cabin had a private beach so it wasn't picked over. We did pretty good with agates this year too. I think we found about a dozen decent ones, and then just a lot of other rocks I collected to tumble and polish (our house is like a rock museum haha)
