I hope I have the correct ID of this bird taken near the Palouse in Eastern Washington

Beak is too long and narrow for a sparrow and at least what I can see in your image seems to match the Pewee which would be part of the flycatcher family. The split tail would also match although it's hard to be positive from this angle. Looks to be singing its little heart out.

Eric calls them SBB (small brown birds)
