Parallel Curves

If you are driving between Yakima and Ellensburg in Washington there is a nice bit of Interstate freeway (I-82) to get you there quickly. If you are like me however you will spot a very curvy twisty road on the map off to the west (WA821) that follows the Yakima River through a canyon and probably is twice as long as the distance on the freeway but four times more fun to drive :)

There is a rail line that also follows the river through this canyon that follows the bends in the river and offered up some nice compositions.

That is a fun place to drive. I have done it once - it was summer with bare skies. This is a nice view.

Thanks Jameel - I took the long road heading up to Seattle to show off my relatively new car at the time (a couple of months old) to one of my track driving buddies so curvy roads were at the top of my list for how to get up there. This shot was taken on the way up there:

This was actually in the summer - mid August in 2007.

What a great location Alan!

And I sure like your car! That looks like it was fun to drive. Do you still have it?

Thanks Jim - the car (and my track days) went away in favor of a station wagon in 2010. Fun to drive and it had a lot more interior space than my older Honda S2000 but it was still hard to pack/unpack for a photo trip. BMW didn't make a lot of Z4s as coupes - I think around 1500 total - so it might have made an interesting collectable but I never had space/budget for auto collecting as a hobby.
