Thanks Jim - when I first got to the park the day before I was afraid I was going to experience a repeat of the smoke conditions I got hit with once before back in 2011. Smoke is a real buzzkill in a park that is typically defined by views of the peak so I was delighted to see it get blown out by the westerly winds that next day. The smoke was entirely gone by the time Jameel wandered in later in the day.
Thanks Jameel - the weather can change quickly up there and went from smoky when I first entered the park to clear, cloudy when you got there and the rapid clearing that gave us a nice sunset. Almost hard to believe all the shots I took that day were indeed from the same day. I am with you on the smoke - I'd rather be there in the rain than have smoky skies.
