Interesting - I have not thought of converting Painted Hills to B&W before. The first two look like the boardwalk path up at the north end of the main road. The B&W and the light angles play really well together with this surface. I like the approach you took for the last image by cropping out the horizon and leaving the focus just down on the painted topography.
