Paintbrush among Sage

Yes, some of these are so vivid they don't even look real. Here, the foreground bokeh is actually on the same plant as the background branches.

Are there leaves on other parts of the sage or is it just dead branches at this point with the paintbrush deciding its a nice place to set up light housekeeping?

Half of the sage was doing good and the other half had a few dead branches on it. The flower was in-between. The green behind the dead branches is another sagebrush a few feet away.

I love me some Indian Paintbrush! It's such a cool flower to me.

Great job capturing this.

I just picked up an 85mm f1.8 lens, I need to see now if I can find some flowers here in Colorado to give it a whirl.

Thanks again, Jim. You may not have enough close focus distance with that lens but hope you have fun with it. Let me know how you do!
