We decided to try and get off the islands today, without a ferry booking so drove back to Tarbert on Harris and waited in the "unbooked" queue. Lots of space, at least 3feet, last on the ferry and off on the morning trip to Skye, our 10th and last island. The forecast was poor with light rain and poor visibility. Didn't stop or take any images in Skye, a first time, and travelled on to Glencoe where the sun shone for the rest of the day.
Tent up and a little explore. I wanted to find this location although a knew the conditions were poor for this shot with the river almost dry, another first. This rowan tree (mountain ash) should look good in the Autumn, with nice textures in the water.
The glen still looks green despite the lack of rain. I decided that it would be a waste of time exploring the waterfalls in the glen so back to the tent for a sit in the sunshine smoked salmon and a glass of wine for dinner until at 9pm the midges descended on us and we walked to the nearby pub for a few beers. There is something strange about walking back at midnight with more than enough light to read by.
