Outer Hebrides trip day 6

I have jumped over day 5 as I have hundreds of images to process from that day. Day 6 was wet, thankfully not all of the time and we travelled up to Stornoway, the islands main town population around 7,000. We stopped off at Calanais, (Callanish) Callanish Stones - Wikipedia Facts, Legend & History | Callanish (Calanais) Standing Stones. They are often photographed at sunrise but since this was 04:20 I wasn't going to attempt it. The only difficulty photographing the stones is keeping the visitors out of shot but the rain had reduced the numbers a lot and I am happy with my 2 images from there. We travelled up to the far North with a brief stop of to see the blackhouses.

I think that I prefer the colour version but mono works

Wow - what a place to visit. Very fun history in the link - thanks for adding that. I am all in for the color with the stones shot - there is something more dynamic in that version that the B&W doesn't quite bring out. The blackhouses are highly photogenic - they look like they could still be in use. Are these part of a preservation project or still the family farm?
