One Break Coming Up

Here is another one from my past. I sat out on Cameron Bluff at Mt. Magazine, in the rain waiting, and hoping for a break in the clouds. Finally the sun peeked through for a few minutes, then disappeared again. I managed to capture this image.

Just for grins I entered it in a local photographers publication and managed to win Editors Choice for best image of 2014 and was published in Capture Arkansas annual coffee table book. Highlight of my brief photography hobby thus far, and the little bit of prize money went towards a new 80-400 lens that I really love using. Hope to get some newer stuff up soon. Just picked up another camera that I can't wait to try out, but weather here has been all sunshine and puppy dogs lately. :)

Hey Bill,

Congrats on the award! A little prize money always comes in handy. :)

This is a pretty cool shot. A really nice foreground and some great light in the background. If it was mine, I think I would do something though about the lower right corner. For me, I don't care for those grasses in the corner, they seem to be distracting. Obviously this has won an award, so maybe it is fine just as it is. But I would try cloning out those grasses. Not sure if you could crop them out without unbalancing the shot.
