Northern Shrike

While walking in a local park, I saw a bump in a tree up ahead. As I focused on it the form became obvious as a bird so I pointed my camera and got a few shots before it flew off. It is moments like this that remind me to have my camera at the ready as you never know when a bird will present for a photo.

I like that the bird is not scared and begins to preen as I am photographing it.

After a few shots the Shrike became aware of me and prepared to fly away.

Great photos Trent! Good job on being prepared. Often the biggest factor in being lucky, is simply being prepared. If you didn't have your camera, your lucky photo would have turned to unlucky.
