North Fork Mountains

This area of the North Fork Road has beautiful views of the mountains in Glacier, sometimes with the river snaking in the foreground along with fall color. On the downside, after looking for hours and doing some painful bushwhacking, I couldn't find a clear view anywhere. The best I could do was park in a pullout with an almost clear view and then put my tripod on top of my car to get over the trees.

I'm not sure if this works, so don't be shy about C&C. I tried to open up the shadows at the bottom too, which often looks a little weird.

You have just hit on the primary reason I like drone photography - how to get views of something besides tree trunks in heavily forested areas. This is a pretty unique view of Glacier NP's mountains and I like what you did with the image including the area in the shade.

This works! I have been in areas like that where probably 40 or 50 years ago the road would have nice clear views. But the trees just keep growing!

I like what you came up with in using your car roof. Is this inside the National Park, or why didn't you use your drone? This is where a drone would be helpful.

This was from just outside the park so I could have used a drone. My Mini 4k pro is back in California but I do have my Neo with me. I didn't bring it when I went exploring, like a dummy.
