Nice Bull Elk

Kathleen caught this nice large Bull Elk in Downtown Estes Park. He was just browsing around an old store and making lots of noise. She only had a 17-70 mm lens on her camera and shot this image at 70mm. It was after sundown and the light was very soft. I think she was able to pull off a fairly decent shot under those conditions!

I saw a video the other day where it looked like 100 elk walking through downtown Estes Park. Not sure when the video was captured, but wow, it was a cool sight.

About 5 summers ago I was shooting in a meadow in RMNP, where there were over 80 cow and yearling elk. What a rush that was!
