NGC2442 and NGC2443 "Meat Hook Galaxy"

After shooting M16 for a few hours, my rig turned its attention to a galaxy, NGC2442 (and NGC2443), known as the "Meat Hook Galaxy" because of its unusual shape. The galaxy is something like 50 million light years away from Earth, so it probably would benefit from a lot more integration than I was able to achieve in one night.

Great to see this galaxy that is not often imaged, really amazing distorted shape.

How interesting James. I haven't heard of this one before. It sure has one really weird shape to it! I think it looks really good here, but I look forward to seeing it with more integration time too.
