My house

So we recently became homeowners :) This is our house in Vermont that we just moved into in July. It's an 1865 farmhouse on 20 acres on a quiet dirt road. It's close to my work and is only an hour from the Adirondacks. Plenty of room for our cat to roam and terrorize small animals :D

HDR saved me on this shot. Normally I don't use it but clearly this one called for it. I like how the sky came out :)

Very nice shot of your new abode. This would have been very difficult light to balance without using HDR.

Good luck in being new homeowners. That house was built before we had electricity.

If you hadn’t of said this was HDR, I would never have known. To me that’s the sign of a good HDR.

And what a cool house! Lucky you to have gotten this cool house and 20 acres! What do you have on the land?

Thanks Alan. That's true, I hadn't thought about that. It's hard to fathom how much things have changed with the advent of electricity, in such a relatively short time.

Thanks Jim, I agree with your view of HDR :)

Our 20 acres is mostly wooded - or shrubbed, I should say. In back of the lawn the property continues up a gently sloping hill that is grown in but used to be pastureland. At the top there's a decent view. There's a big barn, a chicken coop, and several nice mature trees (elm, honey locust, spruce, and maple), several landscaped flower beds with a nice variety of flowers, and a couple young apple trees. We feel real lucky to have landed this place. The market is very difficult for local buyers what with a huge influx of people moving in from NY, MA, CA, etc.
