Mt Tom

Hi All,
Enjoying the images posted on this site and thought I'd post my own.

Inspired by Jim's recent posts I'm adding another Mt Tom image. I love this view and collectively I've probably spent 10 sunrises over the last several winters trying to dial in a composition and get the right conditions (good light, clouds and low elevation snow cover). Its been challenging and still trying ...

Hey Dave, how cool! Mt Tom is one of my favorite mountains and it’s great to see this one. Love that side light and color. I totally get you going back multiple times to try and get the look you are wanting, I have done the same myself on a few different subjects.

I like the yellow side light and you managed the white snow in the foreground and on the peak to really nail the white balance throughout the image.

Hi Dave,

The subtle highlights on Mt. Tom from the early golden light are handled very well with the trees playing an excellent supporting role. The only part that's drawing my eye a bit too much is the bright golden area on the mountain to the right of Tom.

Thanks for the input. Yeah, that is a part of the image I'm not happy with. I may need to go back and try to double raw process to tone that area down.
