This is from Saturday's trip to the Lake District. On arrival I was a little disappointed as the slight breeze was spoiling the reflection but did like the clouds hanging in the valley.

I walked a few hundred yards around the Lake to change my viewpoint and give me better views Bothe up and down the length of the Lake. Against my expectations the breeze dropped and the reflections improved. I posted this earlier but have removed most of the blues. The camera sees blue in instances like this but our eyes produce a neutral colour balance.

Thickening mist

A walk of a few yards gave me a view of Skiddaw and the blue skies

On with the long lens to photograph a Cormorant that was fishing nearby and I used it to pick out details in the thick mist. A kayaker dressed for the low temperatures.

This sequence lasted only 40 minutes. Second part shortly. Ken

Wow - the atmospherics more than make up for the slight breeze. The reflections in you did get in #2,3,4 are quite nice combined with the low mist. The mist in the last image almost make it look like the lake is iced over and covered in snow.

Those are winning conditions. I can feel your disappointment in not having any reflections at first. I am glad you got that calm water later though. All of these are really awesome!
