The sky seems to mirror the ground swirls a bit to me. This is from Valley of Fire from a few months back. It's one of those visits where I knew I wanted to be at the Fire Wave for sunset as the forecast looked pretty great for colors, but I kept getting distracted and stopping. So when I got to the Fire Wave parking lot, I literally grabbed my gear as fast as I could and ran the 3/4 of a mile to the Fire Wave and I got there just as the first hints of color were hitting the clouds. I went after the normal compositions, but I have found that if you focus on the clouds, you will end up with out of the ordinary compositions. Which is what this one is.
A huge thanks again to Ben for processing this one for me. I am so backlogged, and now I am back in Colorado and pretty busy helping with the grandkids, so without Ben, this image would just be gathering dust on my hard drive as I would never have time to get to it.
One thing I appreciate is Ben's gentle hand when it comes to processing, nothing is overdone, or over cooked. They always look just right.
